Overview

Old Bailey Online is a collaboration between the Open University, and the Universities of Hertfordshire and Sheffield, this project was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Big Lottery Fund and makes available in searchable digital form, the proceedings of the Old Bailey from 1674 - 1913. The Proceedings are available as digital images of the original pages and as text rekeyed from the originals. It is an example of the creation of large numbers of digital images in tandem with the text equivalent so that effective searching could be made possible.
