OVERVIEW
learndirect Learndirect was founded in 2000 through Ufi (University for Industry) to provide Online learning courses in a wide range of subjects from skills for life, literacy and numeracy to higher level vocational provision and to enable people who couldn't attend traditional face to face courses to have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and in their own spaces, be that at home, work or at a learndirect centre. The latter were developed alongside courses and are located in range of settings including colleges, community centres, workplaces and public libraries. In addition to course provision, learndirect is responsible for the national adult careers advice service.
Since its inception over a two and a half million people have gained new skills, confidence and enhanced their work prospects through learndirect courses and services.
